URMU and NFIR are committed to make every struggle for railway employees: Sanjeev Chauhan, Mangal Sain

Bathinda, Apr 24 (Dr. Ritesh Shrivastava) The Uttariya Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU) and NFIR (National Federation of Indian Railwaymen) have prepared an agitation for restoration of old pension. A strategy is being prepared in this regard. Under the leadership of NFIR General Secretary BC Sharma, Ambala Divisional Secretary Manmeet Singh is discussing ideas with railway employees at various stations. The above information was given by Sanjeev Chauhan, branch secretary and President Mangal Sain, of Uttariya Railway Mazdoor Union (URMU) in Bathinda today. Both the leaders said that The organization has prepared a strategy that by organizing gate meetings at every railway station, the railway employees have to join the movement. He said that he would not mind losing his life fighting for the rights of railway employees. Chauhan said that Till the old pension system is not implemented by discontinuing the new pension scheme, the agitation will not stop. All the members of NFIR and URMU have geared up. Chouhan and Sain said that the government is privatizing the railways. The government wants to benefit some individual monopolists by resorting to monetization policy of Railways. He said the government should note that privatization efforts by many countries have been disastrous. Any policy implemented by private companies will have a huge impact on the general public. The workers demanded early payment of arrears of all three installments of dearness allowance, stop privatization and contracting practices, not to sell workshop production units and printing presses, to make early appointments on vacant posts to provide better facilities to the public, open to promotion for trackmen. Raised various demands, including removal of NPS, restoration of old pension, providing medical and pass facilities to dependent parents of railway workers. Railway union leaders said that he is committed to make every struggle for the railway employees.
